Process is where the learning is at

Here we have a perfect example of the process over the product. The children collectively made their playdough, firstly exploring the flour, then adding in the wet ingredients, then the colour to finally combine them all. They could feel each different element individually and then collectively understanding what each element offered and why the flour made it ‘less sticky’. Without this hands on approach the children wouldn’t experience the process and all the learning that that entails. Measuring, pouring, differentiation, mixing, texture, finger manipulation and so much more.
